It's not always about hammer and nail. There are many ways to get involved with Habitat for Humanity of Denton County! Alternative Opportunities for Volunteer ServiceData Entry Volunteer: Enter volunteer and donation information into Habitat for Humanity of Denton County's database. Tabling Volunteer: Be a community ambassador for Habitat for Humanity of Denton County. Volunteers are needed to staff informational tables at community events throughout Denton County. This is a great way to support Habitat and meet lots of people in your community. Great for 55+ Committee Volunteers: We have a variety of committees nine to be exact. If you enjoy planning events, searching for land, working with youth, selecting and/or supporting Habitat families, setting building policies, meeting with churches, representing Habitat in the community, coordinating volunteers or raising funds we have a committee for you. Fundraising Volunteers: If you like to host events or plan fundraisers consider making Habitat for Humanity of Denton County your benefiting charity. Please contact Habitat's Director of Business Development with fundraising ideas and support. Office Volunteers: Our office is always a bustling hub of activity. On any given day we need volunteers to answer the phones, make phone calls, perform data entry, assemble information packets, file or help us prepare for an upcoming event. Please visit other ways to volunteer for more details. Professional Volunteers: The Habitat office is always in need of professional volunteers who can help with computer, phone, and other office equipment issues. Web site Volunteers: We try to keep our web site as up to date as possible but we can always use more help in this endeavor. Our web site updating process is very user friendly and we are happy to train an individual who is willing to devote about 1-2 hours a week to posting current events to our site. Work with staff to develop and maintain Habitat of Denton County's web site. Our website is the main tool used for volunteer recruitment and management as well as affordable housing advocacy....Please contact Habitat's Director of PR/Marketing to learn more. Online Group Registration: If you are interested in getting a group involved please fill out and submit a group registration form so we can contact you about upcoming build opportunities. All volunteers must complete a registration and a liability form. Please download the forms below that apply in the list. Join a Committee/TeamPR and Marketing Team: works with Habitat's Director of PR and Marketing to promote Habitat's mission to the media, general public, volunteers and donors. Real Estate Development Committee: works with Habitat's construction staff to look for and acquire decent affordable land. Volunteer Coordination Team: works with Habitat's Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, reward and retain volunteers. Youth Relations Team: works with Habitat's Volunteer Coordinator to recruit youth to participate in the Youth United program. Building Committee: works with Habitat construction staff to set building policies and plan build schedules. Business Development Team: works with Habitat's Director of Business Development to increase Habitat's involvement with the Denton County business community to develop more local business partnerships. Church Relations Team: works with Habitat's Church Relations Developer to share the mission of Habitat with local Denton County churches and build more church partnerships. Family Selection Committee: works with Habitat's Director of Family Services to hold application meetings, and select families for Habitat's homeownership program according to Habitat guidelines. Family Support Committee: works with Habitat's Director of Family Services to support Habitat future homeowners through future homeowner workshops and other various activities. Aluminum Cans build Habitat HomesWe are now seeking volunteers interested in helping us start an aluminum can collection program. This is a great way to get involved with Habitat. Almost 63 billion of the 100 billion aluminum cans produced each year in the United States are recycled.
