Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapters

Campus Chapters are organizations of students, faculty and staff based at public or private educational institutions, universities, high schools, colleges, technical schools, community colleges and seminaries. Campus Chapters are independently chartered within Habitat and overseen by the Campus Chapters Department at Habitat for Humanity International. Since Campus Chapters are not incorporated, they do not deal with the legal, logistical and fiscal aspects of running a separate Habitat project and are dependent on their local affiliate for work on the construction site.

Campus Chapters exist to assist affiliates or sponsored projects and to work within their ministry. Campus Chapters promote the vision and goals of Habitat by:

Raising consciousness on campuses and in other areas of society about the need for decent affordable housing.
Raising money for the overall work of Habitat and affiliates or sponsored projects.
Assisting on the construction site, in the offices and in the community with the local affiliate or sponsored projects.

Campus Chapters also support Habitats mission by:

Organizing work camp groups and short- or long-term volunteers to work at Americus headquarters, affiliates and sponsored projects.
Embracing and promoting the overall purpose of Habitat for Humanity International
Organizing groups to participate in Collegiate Challenges
