Partnering With Habitat

Parnters Build Homes & Change Lives

What is a Partnership?

A partner is an organization that, alone or with others, provides the funds and the volunteers needed to build a home.

Partnership levels are available from $2,500 to $60,000. Partners currently contribute toward the cost of construction materials to build one Habitat home, often side-by side with the Habitat homeowner family.

Partners agree to uphold the terms of the Letter of Intent signed by both the Partner and Habitat.

How can I create a Partnership?

Contact the Habitat office to schedule a Habitat representative who can talk to your organization about the many partnership types and levels available and answer any questions.

May our organization join a Partnership?

Yes. Your organization's commitment of time, talent, and resources at whatever level that you are able to contribute will help. Habitat will work with you to bring interested organizations and businesses together to help form a partnership or to join an existing partnership.

What can I expect from Habitat when our organization helps to build?

Denton County Habitat's construction team has full-time construction coordinators who order the materials and handle all of the inspections and subcontractors. Our professional building crew is volunteer-oriented and includes a house leader, and crew leaders. We provide all the tools and the task training to enable our volunteers to have a safe, productive, and enjoyable building experience.

How long does building take and for how many volunteers?

It typically takes a 20 or more volunteers on site for at least 12 consecutive Saturdays (excluding holiday weekends and workdays canceled due to inclement weather) to construct a Habitat house. This does not include some specialized tasks done during the week by professional subcontractors and more experienced volunteers. A range of skills is expected among volunteers, from completely unskilled to those able to supervise other volunteers.
