Their story is one of tragedy, courage, faith and inspiration. The Morataya family has undergone a lot in the last 3 years. March 13, 2004 was a Saturday night at the beginning of spring break; they had just arrived home from church and were getting ready for bed. All the children had gone out of town for spring break except Morgan who was 10 at the time. He suddenly heard a noise that he could only describe as sounding like a bomb exploding. It was not a bomb but a car, driven by a drunk driver. After crashing into his parent's bedroom, the car slammed into his mom Maria, pushing her through four walls, and trapping her under the car for more than 2 hours. Maria was critically injured. ©2004 - 2010 Habitat for Humanity of Denton County All Rights Reserved
